Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes — ASL CLUB is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under U.S. law, so your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by U.S. tax regulations.

Where does my donation go?
Your donation builds a place for the ASL community in New York City — a curated, members-first space where every event is in ASL by default, not by request. ASL Club is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and every dollar goes toward the four things that make that place real:
40% — Events & programming. Meetups, conversation circles, story-sharing nights, pop-ups, and community gatherings. Every ASL Club event is in ASL by design.
30% — The space. Finding, fitting out, and running a curated venue in New York — built to the standard our community deserves, designed around how the ASL community actually gathers.
20% — ASL community talent. Honoraria, production fees, and travel for the artists, educators, and speakers who are the heart of our programming. Our work pays the signing community.
10% — Operations. A small, Deaf-led team, platform, and governance keeping the organization running with discipline.
Membership is free. There is one criterion for being part of ASL Club: that you sign, or that you want to. Your donation is what keeps that promise.

Yes — we’d love to have you! ASL CLUB is still growing, so right now our focus is on building a strong foundation together. There are a few simple ways to get involved:
Help at upcoming gatherings — If you can show up early, greet people, or assist with setup/cleanup at events, that’s incredibly helpful and appreciated.
Share ideas — Tell us what kinds of meetups, conversations, or story nights you’d like to see. Your input helps shape what ASL CLUB becomes.
Spread the word — Invite friends, share our page, or post about us on social media. Every new person who finds us grows the community.
Future opportunities — As we grow, we’ll open roles for moderators, event helpers, story curators, photographers, and more.
